This week in our Challenge we propose pedaling through one of the most stunning places in Japan.

And, in our selection of Routes, don’t miss the ride through Waterfall Glen Park.

BKOOL CHALLENGE – RIDE UP THE TATEYAMA ALPINE ROAD IN JAPAN!

Thursday 23th November: 11am6pm8pm. Friday 24th: 2am (GMT+1)

After last weeks challenges in the French Alps, we’re now heading to the other side of the world, welcome to Japan!

The mountain you’re facing is called “Mount Tate”. With an average gradient of 5.41% and a total length of 22km, this won’t be easy! However, the route has some very unique surroundings and views. But make sure you save some energy as you’re going to need it!

To make sure that everyone can participate in this stunning race, we’ve organised various times to participate.

WATERFALL GLEN – CHICAGO SUBURBS. UNITED STATES

Cycle the perimeter of Waterfall Glen Park, following a limestone path. You’ll pedal through a beautiful forest full of oaks, maples and pine trees, and wildlife. Thanks to BTooz for shooting and editing this video route through this very unique setting.

ČAKOVEC. CROACIA

The town of Čakovec, in the Croatian county of Međimurje, is the starting and ending point of this 24-kilometer route. An easy session that includes a 3.5 km mountain climb, with an average grade of 4%, to get your heart pumping.

NIKOLSDORF DOLOMITENHÜTTE. AUSTRIA

This pretty video route shared by Edwin starts in the small Tyrolean town of Nikolsdorf. After a few flat kilometers to warm up you’ll face a tough 7-kilometer climb with an average grade of 13% and some sections topping 20%. A demanding session in which you’ll have to give it your all.

RÍO FRÍO. CUNDINAMARCA, COLOMBIA

A 27-kilometer route through the Colombian district of Cundinamarca, in you will ride along the Río Frío (Cold River). An easy session, departing between the towns of Tabio and Zipaquira and tracing a figure eight. The central part of the ride is the toughest, with an uphill section featuring grades of over 8%.
